I can’t express adequately what this recent women’s catamaran charter trip meant to me, really…I just kept using the word “epic!” I have always loved sailing but don’t really know squat and have made it my goal to learn more and become a “proficient” sailor. The Captain of our trip, Annie Gardner, is probably the most accomplished female Captain ever and I am still blown away not only with her generously sharing her experience and mentoring all of us, but how freaking tribe she is from a personal standpoint. What a bitchen, loving, supportive, fun lady she is! She’s a beautiful BAD ASS!

I've had the absolute pleasure of sailing with Annie several times in the Caribbean and Florida. Annie is an expert sailor, excellent teacher, and fabulous role model. She made my dream come true of sailing around the world on a big cat accessible and realistic. I found her stories and experiences to be empowering and inspiring. She is incredibly fun to spend time with and makes a great Painkiller. Aside from the technical aspects of sailing a big cat, I learned a lot about the logistics of life at sea. Each trip was better than the last. As a woman, I truly appreciate the barriers that Annie has broken, and continues to break, in a male dominated sport/community. The accomodations were comfortable and the food was outstanding! I would definitely recommend sailing with Annie, and I can't wait to get back outon the water with her soon!

I have chartered with Annie Gardner twice and I will never charter with another captain. Annie is a very seasoned sailor and is well-known among both the cruising and racing communities. Both times, I trusted her to safely captain the boat in any circumstance that arose. Not only is she a wealth of knowledge, but she also empowered me, a new female sailor, to step out of my comfort zone and take control of situations that I normally would shy away from. You will never have a dull moment with Annie. She is full of life, open minded, a great storyteller, adventurous, and a superb cook to boot. In the early hours of the morning when the sun is not up and everyone is asleep, the memories of my Wind Goddess Retreat flood in. The website and current testimonials sum up the adventure and fun to be had. For me, having cruised with my husband in Mexico in our catamaran, I immediately recognized the opportunity to have all of the fun of cruising with none of the responsibility, work and cost of owning a cruising boat.
My goals were to refresh and improve my boating skills, specifically picking up a mooring ball and anchoring, and to rest and relax in a beautiful warm environment. The BVI was also on my bucket list.
All goals were reached, however the best part of the trip turned out to be the bonds and relationships with the other lady passengers. Two gals were already close friends of mine...but now we have this shared exxperience of cruising the Caribbean. What I did not anticipate was the new friendships I would make. Each woman came from a different profession, had varied life paths and each person shared and participated creating a synergy of interesting conversations and interactions. In one week, I made seven new friends! I can't wait for the reunion retreat!
